We enthusiastically discover the new solo exhibition of artist Renée Fawaz at the Escape Gallery, located in Achrafieh.
A highly anticipated exhibition, especially since it has been some time since we last had the opportunity to admire the subtle and abstract works of this artist. She returns now to nourish us with her art in this unique space.
Renee Fawaz sees her art as a way of revealing the most intimate parts of her being.
The Artist’s Essence
Titled “Chromatic Mysteries”, this new solo exhibition reveals the artist’s deepest essence, expressed through an abstract style, harmonious and vibrant with color. Her work is an invitation to maintain hope and the life force in a world that seems to be sliding inexorably toward destruction.
She confides that her creative universe is based on her intuition and overflowing imagination.
“When I start painting, I never know exactly where I’m going. I let my intuition guide me in a constant dialogue with the blank canvas, which gradually takes shape and builds itself, always seeking harmony, rhythm, balance, values, color, and composition.”
However, she admits that this journey is not always smooth or easy. “Sometimes, it’s a long process that causes anxiety, doubt sets in, I feel stuck, unable to move forward.”
In those moments, like any true artist, she doesn’t hesitate to step away from the canvas, only to return later. Combining the extremes and nuances of life with those of her colors, she admits that often a creative flow rushes through her like a torrent, moving so fast that her hand struggles to keep up.
Thus, her art evolves with the flow of her inspirations and emotions, allowing things to unfold naturally, so her painting can fully flourish.

Art and Sound
Music also plays a fundamental role in her creation, accompanying her in expressing her emotions through colors, sounds, and rhythms, translating her lyrical and intense psychological state.
In her abstract works, a vivid and powerful harmony of colors stands out. Nothing is random, nothing is left to chance; every brushstroke is carefully considered, and the integration of collage gracefully merges with the painting. Creating abstract art while highlighting mixed media techniques represents a challenge that Renée Fawaz meets with brilliance and passion.
